Back to work
First week back in Bangkok. Many fond memories of Korea. Hopefully I’ll get to see my friends again in the near future.
Good Food
Best Life magazine presents 8 foods to eat everyday. Too bad most of them are vegetables that don’t taste that good to me.
At least kimchi is included in this list by Health magazine
Nice wine-food pairing tool
I love (red) wine. I love eating.
Found a nice web page which helps pair wine with food.
Checking out
So we are about half way through the Summer Institute. We will be leaving Cheongju this Sunday to go on a tour. So I have to pack stuff and will check out tomorrow. We will return to this hotel after a week.
Here’s a group photo on a staircase from today. (Pic is pretty big (3 MB), but it’s a lot of people.)
Up the hill, to the Fortress
Two days ago I ran with Sergey, Kim, Andriy, and Yury from the hotel to the Sangdangsansoeng fortress. It was the longest run I have had in the last 2 years. The distance was probably about 7-8 km. Back and forth total 15 km, maybe. The toughest part wasn’t the distance; it’s the slopes. There were some crazy inclines on the way up.
The guys were amazingly strong. I had to do lots of walking. The experience makes me realize that I don’t like gravity that much. Earth is too heavy. The pain was incredible.
The weather wasn’t quite as nice as our first try on Sunday. It was too humid and warm. Anyhow, I felt wonderful after the run.
