10K on a whim

leave a comment »

Decided today to enter a 10K race tomorrow, which is Mother’s day. There are seven races in Thailand tomorrow. This one, 19th NCC minimarathon, is the only one in Bangkok.

Hopefully, my daily runs have prepared me well enough for this. According to a last-year participant’s GPS, the course is short (9.77km). So it probably can’t count as a 10K PB attempt.

It is likely to rain tomorrow (Wunderground gives it 70% chance). The course is in downtown Bangkok. Hopefully traffic control will be good. Anyhow, tomorrow is race day and my goal is to have fun, run fast (going for a sub 42), and avoid an injury (no more cramp or side stitch).
