thoughts on life

Steve Jobs

I am truly shocked and saddened by the death of Steve Jobs.

He found Apple one year before I was born. I bought my first Apple computer 15 years ago, a Powerbook 190cs/66. I became a Mac person. I have grown up with Apple products. Original iMac, PowerBook, MacBook Pro, iPods. Apple made quality products that make technology fun. But beyond that, I have always have admired Jobs for his vision and charisma. He inspired.

Death is the inevitable end for us all, but still.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” (Stanford 2005 Commencement speech)

  1. Hi Rop,
I’m a Mac person also, so it is a sad day. And only 56!

On a different subject, my wife and I will be arriving in Bangkok on Dec. 25th (my daughter lives there now), going to Koh Kut from the 27th to the 30th, and back in Bangkok the 31st to the 5th. Any races on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th? Preferably the 2nd or 3rd, and preferably 5K, although I suppose I could swelter through 10K.
Let’s meet for dinner also, if you are free one of those days.
    Thanks,
    Bob

    • Bob,
the race schedule for Jan is still light. only a few races have been announced, none in the first week of the month so far. I will keep you updated if any races come up on 2nd and 3rd of January.
