How to go to the gym consistently

leave a comment »

It can be hard for people to go to the gym. Excuses are easy to make.

Here the approach that works for me. Three simple steps.

1. You got to have fun. You can’t beat yourself down day after day. Lifting angry and killing yourself in treadmill might fire you up for a while, until you burn out. Then you wouldn’t feel like going anymore. Working out is not about punishing your body, it’s about improving it. Don’t make the gym a dreadful place. Think of it as a place you go play.

2. Have a clear goal. Ask yourself what you want from going to the gym, then come up with a clear answer. Aimlessly going through the motion will bore you to death. Form a mindset that every time you get out the door, you are one step closer to your goal.

3. Get a routine and stick with it. If you just do what you feel like, then you will usually become lazy and just take it too easy on yourself. Be accountable by following a program.

That’s it. Enjoy your training.
