Reflections on the Grind

thoughts on training and life of an introvert

Two years

with one comment

On 24 May 2014, a skinny guy walked into a gym and picked up a barbell for the first time. First session was with light weights and wobbly forms. Didn’t matter. It was a start of a hobby and a journey.

Two years later I am here, bigger and stronger than my younger self. Progress has been show but steady. The iron has given me something to focus and get better at.

It doesn’t matter what you do. Just make sure you enjoy it.

The first workout – Saturday 24th May 2014

** Barbell Squat **
– 30.0 kgs x 5 reps
– 30.0 kgs x 5 reps
– 30.0 kgs x 5 reps

** Flat Barbell Bench Press **
– 30.0 kgs x 5 reps
– 30.0 kgs x 5 reps
– 30.0 kgs x 5 reps

** Deadlift **
– 50.0 kgs x 5 reps

** Power Clean **
– 20.0 kgs x 3 reps

** Overhead Press **
– 20.0 kgs x 5 reps

Body weight then: 58 kg. Now: 72 kg.

The journey continues.
