Flying to China for the first time in my life.
Took a taxi early this morning. Used Grab app to book it in advance. Pretty convenient.
Food at airport is crazy expensive. Espresso for 135 THB, uhm no thanks.
The flight to Chengdu was nearly empty. This can’t be good for the airline (TG)..
During the domestic flight to Hefei, I was told not to use my phone, even though 1) it was neither during takeoff nor landing and 2) the phone was in flight mode. There was no individual media screen to watch a movie. Without the means to kill time it was a pretty boring flight.
Arrived at the hotel late and found out that we can’t use Google, line, Facebook through the hotel wifi. Can’t get in touch with my wife. This blog post is being written offline. As it is, this is going to be a long week.
Iceland beat England in Euro 2016. How cool is that?
Leaving early tomorrow. Honestly I like being home more than going away on business trip. But there’s work be done.
Reverse grip bench is always challenging. You need to set up correctly to avoid hurting yourself. Good feeling to get a PR before going away for a week.

** Dumbbell Hammer Curl **

When you lift weight you are fighting against a gravitational force. Gravity pulls the weight down but you want to push or pull it up. Rep after rep, set after set.
In the end, fatigue sets in and the earth wins. The earth always wins. So you are fighting not to beat gravity but to keep yourself going. Why? So you can grow stronger. Without resistance you can’t improve. Without obstacles you can’t get better. Gravity is your friend.
We went to a yoga class as a free tryout. Even though the class was for beginners, it was pretty hard for a stiff body person like me. Good experience, though we probably won’t get the membership because it’s pretty expensive and we don’t have the time. Home workout is better for us.
After the class we ate a big BBQ buffet. After that I came home and practiced the deadlift. Managed to get a new 2RM. Yoga and deadlift made me sleep really well that night.
Bench only today. Building strength back up. Just a few days left before I have to be on travel. Cannot take the few opportunities to train for granted.
House renovation continues. Still lots of things to be done. Productive day today choosing floor tiles. Such a basic item but it sets the tone of the room.
Things I’m currently excited about: Copa final. It should be amazing with two teams at the top of their games. Argentina vs Chile.
Things currently bothering me: increased number of mosquitoes everywhere. The rain season has brought a lot more of them. Not good for health or productivity.
Yesterday I walked in the heavy rain after the meeting. We were getting some fancy burgers for dinner. The umbrella couldn’t keep the pants and shoes from getting soaked up. Wet socks are one of the most uncomfortable thing in the world
25 Degree Bar on Silom road is a pretty nice place to catch a game. The ‘What a Mess’ burger had too many fillings for me though. First time I tried a burger with peanut butter in it. Next time I’ll try something more basic. Basics are usually good. Fancy stuffs should generally be avoided.
