Reflections on the Grind

thoughts on training and life of an introvert

Rack pull PB

Watched UFC 199 in the morning. Great fights. MMA is a very unpredictable sport. That’s what makes it fun.

Trained. Picked up a rack pull PB today. Another long overdue improvement. Been seven months since last 1RM was set. Heavy deadlift and rack pull are always challenging due to my lack of grip strength.

A great one has passed away. We all are going to do the same. There’s nothing be sad about. Death is the end of suffering. While still alive, live the best life you know. Set out to be happy.

I done something new for this fight. I wrestled with an alligator. I tussled with a whale. I handcuffed lightning, I thrown thunder in jail. Only last week I murdered a rock, injured a stone, hospitalised a brick. I’m so mean I make medicine sick.

– Muhammad Ali

I was too young to follow Ali’s fights. However, when I started lifting I used to listen to motivational speeches a lot. This Ali’s quote was one of those that fired me up the most. RIP. Thank you for being an inspiration.
