Bought a 3.5mm to RCA audio cable so now the old speakers can be used with the computer and we don’t have to listen via headphones all the time. It is a good feeling to make things that have been kinda useless become useful.
No lifting today. Felt like my body needed a break. Did run for 10 minutes.
One approach I’m currently trying to declutter my life is self imposed limitations of storage space. At work I’m throwing everything away if they don’t fit in my one desk and one shelf. Clothes that I keep must never exceed the space of my one closet. Digital files that are too large to be stored in Dropbox (5 GB), google (15 GB), and OneDrive (15 GB) get deleted.
Live lighter by not constantly increasing your storage space. Make room for the good stuff by throwing away the useless stuff.
Pain in right achilles tendon. Bummer.
Two big PB’s: Bench 10RM (82.5 kg) and deadlift with straps 6RM (125 kg). Getting stronger.
Spent most of the day learning things from Youtube. Lifting, philosophy, ideas, tech. There’s so much to learn out there.
Embrace the fact that you know very little, and keep learning. You have no obligation to keep being the person you are today. Don’t ever be content of staying the same. Keep evolving and becoming wiser.
Shopping day. I avoid going out in public places these days. I don’t like being forced to do things I don’t want to do. But we need things at the house to make life more convenient. So we have to go out sometimes to get those things.
We went out, did things we had to do, and came back in. It’s better to stay in most of the time. For me anyway.
Also received an item I ordered from China about two weeks ago. A laptop stand which doesn’t even have a brand. Anyway it’s pretty useful. Now I don’t have to sit so much to use a computer. I can use it while in bed or lying down watching a movie or a sports game. Less sitting is good.
Easy day in the gym. Just bench. It will be heavy lifting tomorrow.
Saturday night so we had a nice dinner at home. Salmon (C trim from Paleo Robbie Grocery), som tam, and bloody mary.
You do the best you can. No matter what the world gives you, be the best version of yourself. Rise above the things that try to keep you down. Embody the philosophy you believe in, don’t just preach.
Wrapped up a long day at work with a short and light session. A typical Friday. Weekend is here. Time to challenge myself.

Got my blood work results back today. Most things are normal. The total cholesterol which I care very little about has decreased from last year by about a hundred. The value has jumped around a lot over the years, while my diet and exercise have remained pretty much the same.
Most people seem to worry if their number goes over 200. I don’t think it means anything at all.
Settling in at the new office. Another day of throwing crap away. I try to do the same at home. It’s liberating to make life smaller and smaller in terms of possession.
Moving files from Dropbox to OneDrive. Found out that the latter is buggy and not as pleasant to use. So I’m reconsidering this migration.
Things move so slow at work. That’s been my main complaint over the years. To get something fixed it takes a really, really long time, if it happens at all. It really takes the wind out of my sail. No wonder people are not motivated to do anything around here. I do what I can to help improve things.
Feeling sick still. So the workout was short and easy tonight. Barbell row and pull up, a couple sets each.
Nan made spinach and bacon quiche for dinner. Yum.
Another moving day at the office. Got since his workout in. Throwing away stuff as much as I can. Hard to believe we still use so much paper now in 2016. Wasteful, dusty, and just a pain to manage.
I save things on the computer as much as I can. Gmail, Dropbox (might move to OneDrive soon because a much bigger free storage), Google drive, Evernote, Google calendar. Searchable and will never get lost. It’s the way to go.
Have had trouble with squat in the past. If it’s not the knee it’s the Achilles tendon. But I can never give it up. To get big and strong one must build a strong base. Nothing is better for that than squatting. I’m weak now but I do what I can. Building back up to what I used to be able to do.
Journey is all about overcoming challenges.
